The INCAE is a private, non-profit, higher-education, multi-national institution dedicated to teaching and research in the field of administration and the economy – training and educating, from a global perspective, individuals capable of successfully taking on top management positions in Latin America.

The INCAE was founded in 1964 through an initiative by the business community and Central American governments; from that time to the present it has received advice from Harvard University’s School of Business.

The INCAE currently has three key activities:

  • Master’s programs in essential areas for Latin American development

  • Executive training programs and seminars

  • Research projects favoring competitiveness in the region. The INCAE has an applied approach that combines best practices and world’s knowledge frontiers with the Latin American reality and setting.

CLACDS at the INCAE

The Centro Latinoamericano para la Competitividad y Desarrollo Sostenible (CLACDS – the Latin American Center for Competitiveness and Sustainable Development) is an academic entity established to assist Latin American governments and private sectors in achieving sustainable economic growth and thereby improve quality of life for all the region’s inhabitants. Its purpose is to serve as a facilitator and catalyst so that the region’s national and institutional leaders could promote changes for achieving the goals of greater competitiveness and sustainable development.

The INCAE has placed strong emphasis on natural resource and environmental management. Since 1991, the Institute has graduated more than 150 men and women with master’s degrees in business administration with an emphasis in natural resources and sustainable development. More information

INWENT

InWent – Internationale Weiterbildung und Entwicklung GMBH (Capacity Building International) is synonymous to human resources and organizational development in international aid. Individuals' abilities to shape their own future and mark the change processes are built through education and the exchange programs and dialog InWent offers. InWent's work is anchored in developmental, economic, and educational policies. The InWent shareholders are the German government, the federal German state, and private sector entities. Other clients are mostly the European Union and multi-lateral bodies.

InWent works for people to begin shaping the sustainable development in their countries, economies, and civil societies of political dialog, practical training, and inter-cultural learning experiences.

UNEP FI

The United Nations Environment Program Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) is a unique global partnership between the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the private financial sector. UNEP FI works very closely with around 200 financial institutions that are signatories to the UNEP FI Declaration and a range of partner organizations to develop and promote links between the environment, sustainability, and financial performance. Through regional activities, a comprehensive job program, training and research programs, UNEP FI's mission is to identify, promote and adopt the best environmental and sustainability practices at all levels of financial institutions. UNEP FI - LATF

Through its Latin American Taskforce, the United Nations Environment Program and its Financial Initiative is working with Latin American financial institutions to support and expand sustainable practices in the region.

Goals

  • Establish sustainability priorities for the Latin American financial sector and promote these priorities through training and education.

  • Create a forum of Latin American signatories trained to exchange ideas and the best practices provided by the UNEP FI contact network.

  • Integration of sustainability (economic growth, social wellbeing, and environmental equilibrium) focused on the Latin American financial sector’s operations.
